Tragedy Strikes My Friend and Art dealer, Yves Arman dies in a car crash in Spain. I had just seen him days before, he had given me a photo that he had taken, and wanted me as a favor to make it into a painting, little did I know I would use it as my tribute and obituary for him. He was a wonderful guy and I miss him still and only wonder what
he could have accomplished had he lived.

name
of one of his greatest inspirations , "Tragic Crash Kept Promise" 1989 acrylic on canvas mixed media.

With this seminal show, Diego Cortez captured the pulse of a burgeoning avant garde art and music scene that set the mood of a generation of artists.
