Tragedy Strikes My Friend and Art dealer, Yves Arman dies in a car crash in Spain. I had just seen him days before, he had given me a photo that he had taken, and wanted me as a favor to make it into a painting, little did I know I would use it as my tribute and obituary for him. He was a wonderful guy and I miss him still and only wonder what
he could have accomplished had he lived.

I used a photocopy from the New York Post about the Crash in it I encrypted the

of one of his greatest inspirations , "Tragic Crash Kept Promise" 1989 acrylic on canvas mixed media.
This was a story about my paintings it included oils and watercolors unfortunately they cropped the works and you do not get the full view of the paintings.

New York - New Wave at P.S.1: Robert Mapplethorp and Other Photographers: The Armory Show of the 80's. Featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Robert Mapplethorpe, Curt Hoppe. In 1981, Diego Cortez organized a large exhibition at the P.S.1 Museum in Long Island City, New York. With this seminal show, Diego Cortez captured the pulse of a burgeoning avant garde art and music scene that set the mood of a generation of artists. A hybrid of art, photography, music and fashion, this Punk and New Wave movement became emblematic of a disaffected youth culture. 1981. 35 min. Video/C 6666
